Standard chemical laboratory
a) Different raw materials (chitin,chitosan,carrageenan, starch blends-based materials and proteins) are dissolved and purified by means of standard chemical procedures;
b) Development and modification of new polymeric structures (membranes, composites, hydrogels) by means of chemical and enzymatic approaches;
c) Production of microspheres and fibres by wet spinning technique;
d) Study of behaviour of the natural polymers in simulated physiological solutions and degradation mechanisms.
