Preparative High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC)
Waters 2545 Binary Gradient
Characterization Lab III

The Waters Prep-HPLC system includes:

(a) 2489 UV/Visible Detector - the detector allows working on the analytical or preparative scale using different flow cells. The detector’s extended linear range of 2.5 AU makes for easy quantitation of both major and minor components in the same run. It allows to monitor absorbance at two user-selectable wavelengths for more information per run.

(b) 2545 Binary Gradient Module - operates at analytical and preparative scales and performs between 0.50 to 150.00 mL/min with a pressure up to 6000 psi.

(c) Manual Dual Injector Module - it allows injecting small or large sample volumes by simply selecting a valve.

(d) Atlantis Prep OBD T3 Column (30 x 150 mm, 5 µm) - it is a difunctionally bonded, silica-based C18 column that exhibit superior retention of polar compounds via reversed-phase HPLC and are designed to retain polar compounds and operate in 100% aqueous mobile phases. In addition, Atlantis T3 columns provide longer column lifetime at low pH along with improved column stability and peak shape for amine-containing bases at pH 7.

(e) Fraction Collector III - it is a fraction collector designed for use with HPLC and Preparative HPLC. Compatible with flow rates as high as 300 mL/min, the Fraction Collector III handles a variety of adapter racks and collection vessels. Several task-specific sample run modes of operation (time, signal, peak numbers, etc.) can be chosen.
