The fatigue test equipment (ElectroForce® test instrument from Bose) is a system for mechanical fatigue characterization analysis. The instrument can be used for the evaluation of a variety of specimens, including biomaterials, acellular and cell-seeded scaffolds, native tissue samples (e,g. bone or cartilage) and tissue engineered constructs. The tests can be carried out under tensile, flexural and compression mode and the samples can be dried or immersed into a solution. Moreover, testing can be performed either force controlled or strain controlled.
