Spectroscopic ellipsometer for end point analysis of biopolymer adsorption and deposition of polymers on in most cases silicon or gold substrates. For now only dry measurements. Is intended to be used as a complement to the QCM to get information of the mass density or thickness of adsorbed proteins/polymers in order to distinguish the water binding capacity of the same, from the combined ellipsometry and QCM data. The outcome of the analysis of data from QCM and ellipsometry are heavily dependent on the choice of physical model.
