Abstract | Colorectal cancer is a major cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide, and accounts for over 9% of all cancer incidence. It is the third most common cancer worldwide and affects men and women equally. In order to win the battle against cancer, further advances are in great need to unveil identification of cancer-causing agents in in vitro and in vivo animal models, as well as for the development of personalized therapies, drug screening, and to provide insightful knowledge on the mechanisms of tumor growth and metastasis. Microfluidic devices have emerged as a powerful platform to tackle the previsouly mentioned hurdles. |
