Abstract | Currently, one of the main focuses of scientists in the Tissue Engineering (TE) field is the development of precise solutions for patients. To accomplish this goal, bioprinting has emerged as a promising technology. Bioinks are crucial for the bioprinting process as they are used to deliver cells and create specific constructs with the desired shape, structure and architecture (1). In the last years, extracellular matrix (ECM) have stand out. ECM can be obtained from several tissues by using decellularization methods to remove the cellular material preserving its structure and components, as collagen. Adipose derived stem cells (ASCs) can be an attractive source of ECM since they produce high amounts upon confluence. Additionally, ASCs can differentiate into several lineages, such as osteoblastic lineage, upon induction, producing bone specific factors. Furthermore, gold nanoparticles (AuNPs) have shown to induce osteogenic differentiation. AuNPs are easily modified making them very interesting in biomedical applications (2). This work, aims to develop dECM-based bioinks combined with AuNPs as a novel system for applications in bone tissue regeneration strategies and theranostics. |
